Tomi Nyback (born 3 April 1985) is a Finnish chess Grandmaster (2003) and poker player.

Chess career

He won the Finnish Championship in 2008.[1] In 2009 he tied for 9th–11th with Mikhail Kobalia and Boris Grachev in the European Individual Chess Championship.[2] Played for Finland in the Chess Olympiads of 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2010.[3]

Other successful performances include: 1st at Budapest 2002, 1st at Jyväskylä 2008,[4] =2nd with Emanuel Berg in the Najdorf Memorial 2008,[5] 3rd in the European Youth Chess Championship of 2002.

In the November 2009 FIDE list, he has an Elo rating of 2628, making him Finland's number one.
